Robinson's Wharf - a two minute walk from Coveside House

During your stay, enjoy Boothbay Harbor's wonderful art galleries, shopping, and restaurants, which are a short five-minute drive from Coveside. While in the region, rent a sailboat or kayak, or join a boat cruise or whale-watching excursion. Go deep-sea fishing, hike a nature trail of which there are several, bike around the island/surrounding areas, or just relax in the serene natural setting of coastal Maine. We are approximately 3 hours from Boston, 3 hours from Acadia National Park & Bar Harbor, 1 hour from Camden/Rockland and 45 minutes from Bath/Brunswick/Freeport.

1. Directions to Coveside House 1. Exit 52 from the Maine Turnpike ( I-95 ) to I-295 North. Alternatively, take exit 44 and I-295 North for a visit to downtown Portland. Coming out of Portland get back on I-295 North.
2. Proceed on I-295 North in the direction of Brunswick and Augusta.
3. Take Exit 28 for Brunswick, and connection to U.S. Route 1 North, direction Bath. ALTERNATIVELY, take the next exit, Exit 31 ( in Maine the exit numbers are not numbered consecutively, but are based on mileage ). At the end of the exit ramp, turn right and follow signs for U.S. Route 1, direction Bath.
4. Follow U.S. Route 1 North through Bath and Wiscasset.
5. .After Wiscasset and the bridge that follows, pickup State Route 27 South (about 2 miles from Wiscasset), direction Boothbay Harbor Region.
6. Follow State Route 27 South through Boothbay Harbor (about 12 miles from U.S. Route 1) to Southport Island (about 5 to 10 minutes ).
7. Southport Island is connected to the mainland by a green swing bridge. You might have a small wait if the bridge is open
8. Once on the island, Coveside House is on the right just after Beacon Hill Road (right), a distance of about 300 yards from the bridge; there is a sign on the front lawn. Drive by the house, and around the sharp right-hand bend in the road. The driveway to Coveside comes up quickly on the right. If you pass the Lawnmere Inn on the right, you have gone too far.
